"AT LAST

At last my love has come along.
My lonely days are over
And life is like a song.
At last The skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you.
I found a dream that I could speak to,
A dream that I can call my own.
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known.
Oh, you smiled. . . You smiled and then the spell was cast
Now here we are in heaven at last!

Don and Lois and JJ.

These cute kids ran up and asked if they could have a hug.

Beautiful Kristi and Audrey enjoying their picnic together.

Isn't this so sweet?

Because I have a wonderful supportive family so many things were taken care of. My busy brother called me a week before the wedding and asked if he and Nancy could make sandwiches for all the wedding party and friends coming up to the temple. And what a lunch it was! We had choices of meat crescent sandwiches, red grapes, chips, and a yummy cookie for dessert. Plus... a cold bottle of water! I don't know how they did it but they fed more than we had guessed would be there. The Bullard family and all the my side of the family were fed plus friends that stayed a little longer. THANK YOU Randy, Nancy, Sandy and Mom and Melvelene. It was an amazing lunch!

JJ's niece' and nephew. Kacey loves all her new nieces and nephews and they love her.

My sister Shelley and her husband Mike and daughter, Hannah.

5. Thompson and Bullard photo.

3. I'm sure they were both thinking. "We did it!" They were on count down starting the day after they became engaged.

4. I wish everyone knew their story. It's a story of friendship first and then love for Kacey. For JJ it was friendship and love. It's a remarkable story.

2. This is where the bride and groom exit for pictures. The back doors of the temple.

1. The sealing was the best!

A beautiful day for a wedding

Lot's of excitement in the air. It was now time for Mr. and Mrs. James Joseph Bullard to make their big appearance out side the back door of the temple.

(Kacey' yw' president) and Melvelene (Great friend of the family~ Grandma Hess' best friend) She flew in from Colorado to be with us.

After the Sealing, everyone waited for JJ and Kacey to come out for pictures.

Going to the LA Temple to be sealed at 10:30 AM

Finally ready!!!

Kacey hired Rachel and her friend to come and help them get ready with hair and make up. (Rachel is Amy's sister) She is so talented! The girls looked so pretty.

I woke up early Saturday morning hearing the shower running and knocked on the door and opened it to this... Sandy was laying on the floor with a towel for her pillow visiting with Kacey. This is how it's always been with these two girls. Sandy and Kacey will ALWAYS be there for each other. They are always laughing and talking~ talking and reassuring that where ever life takes them they will always be there for each other. (Sandy is leaving for an 18 month mission to the Philippines. She will enter the MTC in July of this year.) The people will love this soon to be sister missionary. She has a beautiful testimony of the Savior and she has the kindest heart. (What's so amazing is... She'll come home after a year and a half later speaking fluent Tagalog!"
This note came from Sandy's blog.
Now please allow me to spill my guts:Saying goodbye to Kacey made me very emotional. I don't think there are very many people in this world who have a friendship like me and Kacey's friendship. It's more than just a friendship. I feel like we have part of each other's hearts. This is so cliche, but she knows me better than I know myself. I know that we were even best friends before this life. Before we came down to this earth I probably said something to her like, "fine, I'll go when you go." She is my BEST friend. A friend doesn't get any better than Kacey. Her whole wedding day I was with her or near her and we were laughing and crying and what not. But, when JJ carried her away, I felt like it became real. She was leaving me! She's married. She's a wife. She has a husband. Her being married.. is actually changing my life as well. We can't do sleepovers like we used to...both of us in our tiny twin beds. I will no longer be able to set her up with the cute boy at the party. It won't be as easy to get away for a fun weekend in Coronado. So much in changing. And because of that, I must admit, I am kind of scared. However, Kacey and I have been through a lot together. Our life is like a book. So far, it has been a hilarious, exciting, adventurous, emotional, strengthening book. And Kacey being married is not the end of the book, but only a new chapter. I know things will be different, but I have no doubt that things will be just as amazing. She will always...ALWAYS be my very best friend. I am so excited to see what this new chapter has in store for us! I love you Mrs. Kacey Bullard.

The night before the BiG DAY

April 17, 2009

Lon and I picked up the flowers Friday evening because it would have been too stressful to pick them up early Saturday morning. I cleared out my frig to store the flowers. Then at 6:30 PM we met with the Bullard family to have dinner at Don Jose'.

JJ's whole family was there. He has 3 married brothers and 1 married sister. They all have children whom Kacey loves and they love her!

All of our family; Kyle, Amy, Audrey~ Brett, Kellie and Kristi, Lon and I went and had a great dinner and visit with Don and Lois and Lois' sister Janice, she is from up north.

After dinner we all said... "See you tomorrow"

We went home and even Kacey came home with us!!!

Sandy came over to spend the night. I realized how much I took those day's for granted. It was hard to seperate myself from them two. I kept walking into Kacey's room because I realized those day's were over. Sandy was so cute and kept telling Kacey... "You're getting married tomorrow!" Tomorrow Kacey, you're getting married! Tomorrow you're going to be Mrs. Bullard! You're Kacey Thompson tonight and tomarrow Mrs. Kacey Thompson Bullard!!

Kacey was so calm about the whole idea. She was ready.

Ironing, ironing, ironing.

April 17, 2009

Lon took Friday off from work to help me get ready for Saturday's BIG DAY. I don't think he knew he would be ironing. I didn't even have to ask for his help, he stepped right up and started helping.

Notice the "two" irons? It took two people to get the wrinkles out of those table cloths, so we faced each other and ironed together!

The Easter Story

"Resurrection Cookies"
This is a great recipe to teach your Children the REAL story of Easter. That the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior is not dead but has Risen.
This activity can be done as a "family" or for sharing time in primary.

You will need:1 cup whole pecans 1 teaspoon vinegar 3 egg whitesa pinch salt 1 cup sugara zipper baggy 1 wooden spoon scotch tape and a Bible
Instructions:These are to be made the evening before Easter. Preheat oven to 300F.*** (this is very important --- don't wait until you are half done with the recipe).Place pecans in zipper baggy and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces.

Explain that after Jesus was arrested. He was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read: John 19:1-3
Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 teaspoon vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross He was given vinegar to drink. Read: John 19:28-30
Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. Read: John 10:10&11
Sprinkle a little salt into each child's hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus' followers, and the bitterness of our own sin. Read: Luke 23:27
So far the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1 cup sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. Read: Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16
Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed. Explain that the color white represents the purity in God's eyes of those whose sinshave been cleansed by Jesus. Read: Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3
Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper covered cookie sheet.Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus' body was laid.Read: Matthew 27:57-60
Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF.
Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door.Explain that Jesus' tomb was sealed. Read: Matthew 27:65-66
GO TO BED!
Explain that they we may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus' followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read: John 16:20&22
On Resurrection Sunday (Easter) morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter Jesus' followers were amazedto find the tomb open and empty. Read: Matthew 28:1-9

Kristi turned sixteen!

Sorry everyone, I was fixing my post and I fixed it so well that I lost it!
