What is it about grandpa's?

Nothing makes me happier than seeing grandpa's with their grandchildren.
I have great memories being with my grandpa Mortensen. What a patient man.
I remember his whisker kisses and hugs. He was the best!!

I have memories of grandpa Thompson and I would sit on his lap and snap his suspenders (yes, VERY patient!!) And he would make crafts with us like wood working and things. I also remember Grandpa Hess and when I would come over to play the piano and he would ask me if I was there to tickle the ivory. :) Good memories.

I remember my other grandpa (Smith) but he passed away when I was young. I only remember him as a hard working rancher and a very tall man. Grandma Smith on the other hand was my very favorite grandma. I never questioned her love for me. Grandma Mortensen loved me but she seemed to busy for her grandkids. (That's how it felt to me and I may be wrong.) My own Mother is the worlds best grand mother ever...

My mother's father passed away when I was three, so I don't have any real memories of him...but I see my dad's dad once a year and e-mail him frequently...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Papa. He has lived on the island of Molokai in Hawaii my entire life. I have been to Hawaii to see him at least a dozen times...I have awesome memories of staying with with him and Tutu (my grandma). Last time we were there, he was showing Ryan and I how to husk coconuts.

Throughout my life, he has flown to California at least twice a year to visit our family...it was always a treat when he came to town.

I am glad Ryan has had the opportunity to meet him- he is a wonderful man! :)

My 'Dad' (Granddad)...have you seen Richard Farnsworth in Anne of Green Gables? That's my grandpa's spirit and gentleness...at least that's how it imprinted me. I can still feel him, his hugs, his chuckles, his scent. He was full of mischief, I was his 'Snookums'...I loved him with a love as big as life, and I still do! I can hear that chuckle now...

Isn't it amazing that we are now creating those feelings and memories for our grandies....???

That is such a cute picture of Lon and Audrey. I'm pretty certain that she will have the same fond memories of her Grandpa as we do of ours.
